About Now I See Me
"I've always wanted to write a book about my life," Mom said. Since she can't write that book to tell her story, I decided a few years ago that I would write it for her. When I started writing this book, Mom(the main character Maya) did not have Dementia. At least, I didn't realize she had it. This is in honor of her. As we navigate through Mom's Dementia journey, I travel back in time with her to tell her story through her eyes in which the title "Now I See Me" describes her journey from a child to an adult. It is an exhilarating and humorous story of how Mom viewed her past, and how it shaped her into the person she is today. Dementia may have affected her, but it did not steal her loving, caring nature as a woman. What the Bible states about a virtuous woman describes Mom, Martha Bowen.
Quote from "Now I See Me"
Old man Blue as they called him, staggered into the shed, and said, “McGregor, you need to be careful. The law is snooping around. Let me get a couple of jars of that home brew before I leave?

I love how the author was able to let readers into Maya's world. As a reader, I was able to feel the emotional impact, and have insights into the challenges faced by individuals with dementia. - M. Wilson
